Success is not the key to happiness

Does Success Come Without Happiness?

August 03, 20201 min read

Don’t we all want happiness? Isn’t that what we work so hard for?

Who wants success without happiness? What is it even worth if you can’t enjoy success or share your success with others?

I know that some of you out there have just graduated and are looking into jobs and some of you have just gotten your first job offers. What does success look like to you right now?

A few tips:

Do not settle on a job because it is the first offer you get and you are scared there might not be another. Do you just choose the first Netflix movie in your cue? No, you look around, look at the categories, see what looks like a good match, or has been recommended by a friend. You don’t pick your significant other like that either, don’t pick your job like that either. You spend a lot of time at work, be picky.

Look for jobs that you want to do, not what others want you to do.

Look for jobs that fit your needs and your lifestyle.

Look for a job that helps grow your career.

Write down your top priorities for your work and lifestyle and do not budge. You are worthy of being choosy. You have worked hard to get this far. Continue to make good decisions for the direction of your PA career.

Make your job fit your needs.

You can find happiness with work and with choosing the right job. When you are happy in your career, this can only lead to success in your career.

And if you find yourself in a job that you are not happy with, look for a new one. You don’t get a gold star for sticking it out.
